Finals start on Thursday and the library wants you to know that we can help with your finals preparation. “How?” You might ask. Well, here are some resources you can find in the library that can help you get through the next couple of weeks.
Did you know that we have copies of previous exams for some classes? We do not have an exam for every class, but sometimes professors make them available through the library. You can ask for a particular exam at the Circulation Desk and we can let you know if we have it. If so, you can check it out for two hours, for use in library.
There are also some exam files available online, go here. To access these files, you will need to log in with your IU username and password.
Our study aids collection is available year-round, but can be particularly helpful around exam time. Our study aids collection contains various series, including Hornbooks, Examples & Explanations, and Nutshells, on many different topics.
They are located in the Information Commons, behind the reference desk, against the wall. They circulate for twenty-four hours and can be used outside of the library.
Extended hours are from Thursday, April 14 – Friday, May 6th to allow students more study time in the library to prepare for final exams. We are open:
Monday – Thursday: 7 AM – 2 AM
Friday: 7 AM – Midnight
Saturday: 8 AM – Midnight
Sunday: 9 AM – 2 AM
On Friday, May 6th we will be open 7 AM – 7 PM.
Our new copier in 135F on the first floor (by the elevator and restrooms) can now scan to email. This service is FREE. Instructions are posted on the bulletin board in the room, but if you need assistance please come to the Circulation Desk and let us know. We will be happy to help you!
During final exams, there is a heavy demand for study rooms. Study rooms must be reserved online using your IU username and password. Study room reservations are approved by the Office of Student Affairs. To guarantee a study room during final exams, please make sure you place the reservation at least one business day in advance. If you have trouble reserving a study room, please contact the Student Affairs office at email@example.com.
You may have noticed a table by the first floor hallway with adult coloring pages and crayons. We understand that final exams are stressful and that you may want to take a break every so often from your studying. Stop by and pick up a page to color and some crayons! A little coloring might prove to be the perfect stress reliever.
Hopefully you will find these helpful. Best of luck to our students on final exams!
